No, that’s a common myth. While North and East are naturally auspicious, a South-facing house can be very prosperous if the main entrance is placed in the correct "pada" (step) of the South zone. Vastu remedies like using earthy colors (brown/maroon) and hanging a Swastika or Om symbol above the door can also balance the energy.
